SHIMANO’s BASS ONE XT+ is designed with attention to detail that goes beyond the entry level, incorporating the action expertise developed across SHIMANO’s bass rod series. Its flexible, low-wobble blank enhances cast control, while the reel seat is made from lightweight, high-strength CI4+. The rod is configured to make it easier to detect information transmitted to the angler’s hand, and the grip uses EVA foam with different levels of hardness. Softer EVA is used directly below the reel for a comfortable, secure grip, while harder EVA is used for the rear grip to facilitate applying power, supporting a firm grip during casting.

The spinning models feature a center-cut 2-piece design and are available in versatile and solid-tip configurations. In addition to soft baits such as drop-shot rigs, neko rigs, and jighead wacky rigs, the 263L-2, 263ML-2, 266L-2, and 266ML-2 also handle small minnow plugs, small topwater lures, and shad plugs, depending on the model. The 263UL-S/2 and 266L-S/2 are bite-detection-focused models equipped with delicate solid tips, designed for weightless rigs, drop-shot rigs, neko rigs, jighead wacky rigs, and small rubber jigs. In particular, the 263UL-S/2 is designed to handle short bites in tough conditions.
