Shimano Pitbull

Shimano’s PITBULL G5 is a high-density sinking PE line designed to help lightweight lures and rigs sink more easily and reduce line slack in strong winds or when making long casts. It features a five-strand construction combining a high-density fluorine fiber with a PE sheath structure. Four strands of high-strength polyethylene IZANAS® are braided around it in a sheath-like configuration, resulting in a design with a higher specific gravity than conventional PE lines.

After casting, the line gradually sinks into the water, helping prevent lightweight lures and rigs from rising in the water, making it easier to maintain contact with the bottom, and reducing excess slack after the lure lands. Its low-stretch performance, characteristic of PE line, helps transmit changes in the bottom and bites to the angler’s hand, while also providing high linear strength. It is available in Steel Gray and High-Vis Orange. Steel Gray is easy to use when you want to minimize the line’s visibility, while High-Vis Orange is useful when you want to monitor the line’s movement and changes during the fall. This line is designed for techniques that involve sinking and manipulating light rigs, as well as situations where bites are detected by watching the line’s movement.
