SHIMANO’s BANTAM PAVLO SHAD is a long-lip shad plug designed to deliver both stable swimming action during high-speed retrieves and sharp darting action in response to rod manipulation. Its internal “Jerk Assist Balancer” lowers the center of gravity during the retrieve to stabilize the swimming posture, while raising the center of gravity when rod action is applied, intentionally tipping the body onto its side to assist the darting action. The main weight uses a fixed-center-of-gravity magnetic system, designed to maintain tight wobbling and low retrieve resistance while providing stable swimming action and castability during high-speed retrieves.

When the lure contacts an obstacle, its bottom action makes it less likely to spring upward through the water, allowing anglers to work it with a sequence of contact, pause, twitch, and pause while sensing changes in the bottom. Retrieve-and-rod-work presentations can be varied by transitioning from a high-speed retrieve to repeated jerks, or by pausing the lure on the bottom before adding twitches. The 59SP measures 59 mm in length and weighs 6 g, reaching a maximum diving depth of approximately 1.7 m, while the 59SP MR has the same length and weight and covers depths of approximately 2.7 m, allowing anglers to choose between them according to the target depth. The body features SCALE BOOST, a composite-pitch hologram that reproduces the scales of baitfish.
