GAIN CORPORATION’s THE STOPPER “KIWAMI” is a sinker stopper designed to securely hold tungsten bullet sinkers in place. Made from pure rubber, it pursues superior holding power unlike conventional colored products. It is also designed for compatibility with fluorocarbon line, making it suitable for situations where the sinker’s position needs to be maintained, such as pitching into cover or fishing Texas rigs around rocky areas.
The stopper features a long body that helps provide a large contact area and securely holds the sinker in place. Its pointed tip is designed to help the line pass through smoothly while reducing debris buildup. It fits the shape of bullet sinkers easily and can also be used with high-density sinkers made from tungsten or space metal. It is compatible with both fluorocarbon and PE lines. Available in sizes S, M, and L, the recommended line ratings are 6–12 lb for S, 12–16 lb for M, and 16–25 lb for L. It can also be cut to size as needed.
To set it up, first pass the line through the ring on the wire extending from the stopper, then transfer the stopper from the wire onto the line. While holding the stopper with your fingers, pull the wire backward and pass the line through the hole in the main body. Next, thread the sinker onto the line, tie on the hook, and move the sinker toward the hook. Press the stopper against the sinker to secure it in place. Both a standard type and an F type are available; the F type differs in the number of pieces included and its Feco-compliant specifications.
