Cotton Cordell Crazy Shad

Cotton Cordell’s Crazy Shad is a topwater plug designed to mimic the surface movement of a weakened baitfish while offering easy handling with its compact body. Two rotating blades churn the surface, creating a rolling splash and distress signals resembling those of a fleeing baitfish. Measuring 3 inches in length and weighing 3/8 ounce, its short body helps reduce air resistance during casting, making longer casts easier than its size might suggest. The compact body shape is also intended to increase hook-up opportunities.

It is generally used with a surface-oriented retrieve, creating a strong presence through the sound and ripples produced as the blades catch the water. In addition to being worked quickly to imitate a baitfish fleeing across the surface, it can also be used when targeting schooling fish. According to the official specifications, it is a topwater model fitted with #4 hooks and is compatible with both baitcasting and spinning tackle.
