Gary Yamamoto Fat Yamasenko

Gary Yamamoto’s FAT YAMASENKO is a bulky straight worm developed from the idea of casting a Yamasenko farther without a sinker. Its thicker body provides ample weight, making it easy to cast even weightless and suitable for long-distance casting from shore as well as efficient, high-tempo fishing with baitcasting tackle.

The body features Gary Yamamoto’s original ribbed texture. During the fall, the difference in thickness between the head and tail sections creates different vibrations at the front and rear as the bait sinks with a subtle, undulating action. Despite its simple design without appendages, it combines the Yamasenko’s distinctive falling action, which readily maintains a horizontal posture, with a bulky profile. It is primarily suited to weightless presentations with an offset hook or wacky rig, allowing it to fall freely before being worked along the bottom. Depending on conditions, it can also be used with a Texas rig, Carolina rig, or free rig. Inserting a light nail sinker on the side opposite the offset hook also enables a backslide-style presentation. The 4-inch model is an easy-to-use size when long-distance casting and a strong presence are priorities.
