Gary Yamamoto Sinker

Gary Yamamoto’s SUGOI SINKER is an easy-to-use bullet sinker for adjusting the weight of soft-plastic rigs, particularly Texas rigs. Made of tungsten, it is available in 4g, 5g, 6g, 8g, 10g, and 12g sizes. The fine weight selection allows you to adjust the soft plastic’s fall speed, feel as it reaches the bottom, and handling when pitching it into cover according to the conditions.

Basically, thread the sinker onto the line, tie on the hook, and rig the soft plastic for a Texas rig. When pegged to the soft plastic, the sinker and bait act as one unit, making it easier to work the rig into cover. When left free-sliding, the sinker can move along the line while you work the soft plastic. Official examples show it used in Texas rigs with craw-style soft plastics, grubs, Yamamoto Senkos, and other baits for fishing cover and taking advantage of the fall. With lighter-weight setups, it can also be used for heavy drop-shot rigs, with intermediate weights such as 4g and 5g providing additional options for adjusting the rig’s sink rate and handling.
