Keitech’s Rumblade Jig is a blade jig developed as a unique design concept for existing blade jigs, intended to be paired with one of the company’s swimbaits as a trailer. Its key feature is a semi-fixed blade system that connects the blade at two points—top and bottom—via a specialized bent wire similar to that used on spinnerbaits. The blade is held upright on the jig head, allowing it to begin moving immediately upon entering the water and making it easier to initiate the action even in tight areas such as gaps in shallow cover. By limiting the blade’s range of movement, the jig is also less likely to lose balance during fast retrieves, maintaining stable action.
During the fall, the blade catches water and produces a side-to-side shimmy fall. During the retrieve, the blade’s vibration is transmitted through the wire to the jig body and trailer, creating synchronized movement throughout the lure. Another distinctive feature is the multiple metallic sounds produced when the brass beads between the blade and head, and between the blade and upper arm, make contact. The arm and blade function as guards to help reduce snagging around riprap, laydowns, and stumps, while also making the jig suitable for skipping. Positioned toward the rear of the head, the trailer keeper helps prevent the head from dropping too far during the swim and holds trailers of various shapes with its flat surface and double barbs. The hook is a custom-made DECOY 5/0 Limerick-bend hook, with example trailers including the Crazy Flapper 4.4", Flex Chunk ML, and Fat Swing Impact 3.8".
