Gamakatsu’s HORIZON HEAD LG LIGHT+G is a lightweight jig head designed for small bait, combining big-bass hook performance with the posture and depth-keeping capability required for mid-strolling. While retaining the basic design of the HORIZON HEAD LG series, it features a revised hook size and head balance suited to 3- to 4-inch soft baits, with lightweight weights from 0.9 to 2.6 g for targeting the midwater column.
The low-center-of-gravity keeper, with a flat upper surface, makes it easy to insert the hook shallowly into the soft bait, allowing the bait’s head to be rigged naturally without excessive deformation. The keeper features four ribs to hold the soft bait securely and is designed to help maintain a horizontal posture while swimming or falling. The head shape and weight distribution are tuned to produce the rolling action essential for mid-strolling while making it easier to maintain the desired depth. The hook uses high-strength, high-hardness T.G.W. material and is designed with a fine wire diameter for fighting large bass. Its shape, which takes hook-point angle into consideration, and the low-friction “Nano Alpha” surface treatment help achieve solid hooksets in hard mouths.
It is equipped with a shape-memory alloy wire guard designed for use around weeds and structure; the guard can be cut off when not needed. Hook sizes #2, #1, and 1/0 are available, allowing selection according to soft-bait size and tackle balance.
