OSP Duckbill

OSP’s DuckBill is a new-concept shallow crankbait designed to prioritize strong water displacement and a wide action over natural subtlety, stimulating the predatory instincts of fish-eating species and provoking them into striking. Its distinctive form integrates the lip and body into a single unit, producing a wide wobble-and-roll action that swings dramatically from side to side while swimming in a straight line. By aggressively displacing water, it creates a strong presence, while the lip shape allows it to move around obstacles as it is retrieved. The buoyant 110mm, 28g body has a maximum diving depth of 1m. On a fast retrieve, it makes a large, near-breaking-point action while maintaining a depth of around 50cm below the surface; on a slow retrieve, it slowly parts the water while swinging its body.

Its wide range of effective retrieve speeds makes it suitable not only for shallow, stained water, but also for targeting reaction strikes with its powerful action in clear water and on highly pressured prime spots. An internal rolling swivel helps reduce line twist caused by rotation during flight, and direct connection of the line to the swivel is recommended. It is fitted with #3 hooks front and rear, along with #2 split rings. Bone resin and clear resin are used depending on the color. Bone resin is approximately 0.7g lighter than the stated weight, making it better suited to presentations focused on extremely shallow water, while clear resin is configured for situations where fish holding one level deeper in the water column need to be called up.
