OSP’s DOLIVE SHRIMP was developed to replicate the way a shrimp moves its slender legs as it travels, along with the minute vibrations produced in the process. During a fall or retrieve, the upward-facing inverted appendages catch water and vibrate at high speed. This movement is transmitted to the legs, antennae, and uniquely shaped flat tail, causing the entire body to tremble with fine, rapid movements. The inverted appendages also act as a brake during the fall, producing a slow descent accompanied by subtle vibrations. After reaching the bottom, the low-specific-gravity material helps the bait maintain a horizontal posture, making it well suited to slow presentations that incorporate pauses.
The antennae and flat tail are not arranged in a single horizontal row; instead, they are spaced apart and positioned vertically. This allows each part to move independently without interfering with the others, despite the bait’s slim profile. The thin flat tail ripples finely in response to the vibrations of the inverted appendages and sways softly with rod manipulation. Its textured surface and water-catching tip generate subtle vibrations even during a slow fall with a light sinker weighing 0.5 g or less. The semi-ring body grips the water, while the centerline serves as a guide for hook placement. The material is tuned to a hardness that brings out the bait’s action, while the reduced salt content helps maintain buoyancy. Natural squid and shrimp powders are also blended into the material.
The 3-inch model is sized for spinning tackle, while the 4-inch model is well suited to bait finesse applications. Both work with drop-shot rigs, neko rigs, finesse rubber-jig trailers, light Texas rigs, and jighead rigs. The 4.8-inch model is easy to use with Texas rigs, heavy drop-shot rigs, Carolina rigs, jika rigs, and rubber-jig trailers, with 3/0 to 4/0 hooks recommended for both offset and straight-hook presentations. The 6-inch model can be used with Texas rigs and similar presentations, with 5/0 to 6/0 hooks as a guideline.
