OSP’s YAMATO O.S.P was developed as a surface multi-action bait that combines the walking performance of a pencil popper with far-reaching splashes and popping sounds, covering presentations from the surface to just below it. In addition to the front cup, it features cups on both sides, while its unique design—combining a center board extending from the jaw with two line ties—creates different actions. Using the lower high-appeal line tie produces a high-pitch walking action with a reduced travel distance, thanks to the water-flow control effect of the center board. The bait stays in the target area more easily and strongly appeals to fish on the surface with splashes and sound. Switching to the upper diving line tie makes the bait dive just below the surface with slightly stronger twitches. Short, precise rod movements produce jerkbait-like flashing and head swings, while a steady retrieve generates an S-shaped action with a rolling motion.

It is a 118.0 mm, 28.0 g floating bait equipped with #4 hooks. In addition to the standard model, the YAMATO O.S.P SPEC2 is also available, featuring a bone-material body and tungsten weights that add rolling and deep, low-frequency rattle sounds. The SPEC2 is suited to situations where anglers want to utilize rattle sounds in addition to the standard splashes and popping sounds. It is also designed for a presentation in which lightly tightening the line shakes the body and produces sound.
