OSP Dunk

OSP’s DUNK 48 SP is a suspending model developed to cover the 0.5–4.0 m depth range—an area that conventional small shad plugs could not fully reach—without changing lures. Its slim shad profile handles everything from slow retrieves over shallow hard bottoms to steep breaks dropping from 1.0 to 4.0 m, as well as high-pressure areas where deep-diving crankbaits are less likely to produce a response.

Designed to swim at a forward-leaning angle more than 10 degrees steeper than the average shad plug, the DUNK’s super-long lip provides snag resistance, allowing it to approach cover and the bottom tightly while easily deflecting off obstacles. When avoiding cover, it can also produce irregular action that triggers bites. Its drop-in weight-transfer system stabilizes the swimming action by minimizing dramatic rolling and course deviation when the lure contacts cover. The full-flat body transmits vibration across a wide area and enhances its flashing action.

The DUNK measures 48.0 mm in length, weighs 5.0 g, and comes standard with size #10 hooks. A steady retrieve that takes advantage of its ultra-high-pitch action is the basic approach, while it can also be used for working near the bottom with a slow retrieve or enticing fish with twitches. Because the DUNK is highly sensitive to line-eye tuning, make fine adjustments to the line eye while checking the lure’s swimming action.
