Evergreen Piccolo

EVERGREEN International’s Piccolo is designed with a thorough focus on ease of use as a small crankbait, combining casting performance with baitcasting tackle and a feel during retrieve that is close to that of a standard-size crankbait. Despite its compact body, the fixed-weight design provides a stable flight posture while minimizing the difficult casting, unstable swimming action, and weak vibration transmission often associated with small crankbaits.

The rounded body increases buoyancy by maximizing internal air volume and is fitted with size #8 hooks—one size larger than would normally be used for the body size. A low-center-of-gravity fixed weight concentrated at a single point at the lowest part of the body contributes to a crisp, stable action and quick recovery after deflecting off cover. The horizontal, wide, elongated lip reduces air resistance to aid casting, while its broad surface catches water to produce a steep diving angle and transmit a clear pulling sensation despite the compact body. The front hook features a horizontal eye that makes it easier for the lip to protect the hook point, and the lure comes standard with fluorocarbon-coated Treble Magic treble hooks.

In addition to bottom-knocking applications in shallow water around 1 meter deep, the Piccolo can also be used to target the mid-water column at approximately 1.5 meters in areas around 3 meters deep. The standard model has a diving range of 1.3–1.6 meters, while the Piccolo Dive Shallow is designed to run at 0.7–1.0 meters, allowing anglers to select the appropriate model according to the target depth.
