Evergreen Brim Slide

Evergreen’s Brim Slide is a bluegill-shaped floating big bait that pursues not only a realistic appearance, but also the escape action of prey being targeted by predators. Its tall, flat-sided jointed body and large fins move a substantial amount of water, allowing you to start working the lure quickly as soon as it hits the water. By slightly restricting the joint’s range of motion, it combines a soft swimming action with sharp, responsive darts. The dorsal and anal fins are made of hard material, while the pectoral, pelvic, and tail fins use elastomer material. The pectoral and pelvic fins help prevent excessive rolling and also reduce the likelihood of the line becoming wrapped around the hooks during jerks.

On a steady retrieve, increasing the speed produces a high-pitch water-pushing action that mimics a bluegill or crucian carp fleeing in panic. With a quick burst of reel speed—the “guriguri” retrieve—or rod-worked jerks, the lure transitions from sharp, cutting slide darts into a dive, then triggers strikes with its subsequent rising action. It measures 15.0 cm in length, weighs approximately 3 oz, and runs at a depth of 0.0–1.0 m. Before use, attach a #1/0 treble hook to the front hook eye and a #2 treble hook to the rear hook eye. It can also be tuned to suspend or sink slowly by applying weight stickers. Because deformation of the elastomer parts can affect the swimming action, take care during storage to prevent the fins from becoming bent or misshapen.
