Evergreen Jack Hammer

Evergreen’s JACK HAMMER was developed by combining the experience and ideas of Morizo Shimizu and Brett Hite in pursuit of the essence of the bladed jig. Every component has been refined, including the blade, head, hook, rubber skirt, and trailer keeper, as well as the position and size of the blade hole. The low-center-of-gravity, flattened head stabilizes the action and is designed for quick recovery after a darting motion and easy skipping. The wide front of the head and short eye shape allow the blade and head to make contact, producing a low-pitched sound.

The 0.4 mm-thick stainless steel blade delivers a quick start-up and strong water displacement, creating an ultra-high-pitch rolling and wobbling action reminiscent of a wood crankbait with a circuit-board lip. When it contacts the bottom or cover, it momentarily loses balance before quickly righting itself. It transitions easily into its action after landing or immediately following a darting motion, and can be used primarily with a steady retrieve, or skipped around cover and under overhangs. The double-wire keeper securely holds the trailer, while the heavy-wire hook is designed for use around cover. Available weights are 3/8 oz, 1/2 oz, 3/4 oz, and 1.2 oz, with manufacturer-recommended depth ranges of 0.3–1 m, 1–2 m, 2–3.5 m, and 3.5–6 m, respectively.
