Evergreen Last Ace

EVERGREEN’s Last Ace is a soft bait developed around Ken Fukushima’s pursuit of a lifelike baitfish presence and the ability to recreate the movements of a small fish fleeing in response to angler input. Its vivid small-fish silhouette maintains a strong presence even when stationary, while rod work can transform its action into movements that trigger a predator’s instinct to feed.

The standard lineup consists of two sizes: 45 and 75. The 45 is designed for mid-water presentations with a hover-strolling rig, as well as bottom shaking with a dropshot or Neko rig. The 75 is intended for surface twitching with a weightless rig, mid-water jighead swimming, and bottom shaking with a dropshot or Neko rig. The color lineup includes original colors featuring silver powder and paint applied to the body surface to reproduce the scales and slimy sheen of a small fish, as well as laminate colors that combine different materials on the upper and lower sections to emphasize color changes as the bait rolls. For the 45 in hover-strolling applications, the official setup calls for a 90-degree eye hook and nail sinker; for the 75 in weightless applications, a small straight-shank hook is recommended.

The derivative Last Ace S features a low-center-of-gravity design with salt incorporated into the lower half, a flat-sided body, and an upturned, curved tail. Combining a powerful rolling action with the natural swing of its caudal fin, it produces a sliding, shimmying fall when fished weightless, panic darts when jerked, and a weaving action on a steady retrieve. The 86S is compatible with offset hooks, jigheads, Neko rigs, and more. The dorsal slit and ventral dots serve as reference points for positioning the hook and nail sinker.
