Evergreen IR Jig

EVERGREEN’s IR Jig is a compact all-around jig developed by Shigeru Shimizu, embodying his concept of bridging the gap between full-size and finesse rubber jigs. Its silhouette is neither too large nor too small, paired with a relatively large long-shank hook for a compact jig. This design balances bite-inducing performance in tough conditions with the strength needed to handle big bass once hooked. The modified round head features added weight along the lower front section and a cut-away rear, allowing for a more vertical fall, easier entry into cover, and improved bottom sensitivity.

The line tie is positioned at 45 degrees, helping reduce snags while making it easier to drive the hook home. Developed through extensive field testing, the brush guard provides reliable protection in cover while allowing the hook point to come through readily when a fish bites. The wire keeper securely holds trailers ranging from bulky craw-style soft plastics to slimmer trailers, and also functions as a rattle holder. The fine-cut silicone rubber skirt makes the jig suitable for a wide range of techniques, including pitching into bushes and reeds, allowing it to fall around rock faces and standing timber, swimming or hanging it off in vegetation, dragging it along the bottom and across breaks, and lift-and-fall presentations. Available weights include 1/4 oz, 5/16 oz, 3/8 oz, 1/2 oz, and 3/4 oz, with the 5/16 oz size filling the gap between 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz.
