Evergreen Wild Hunch

EVERGREEN’s Wildhunch is a bite-inducing crankbait developed with a focus on maintaining a stable swimming action even when used with heavy line or retrieved at high speed. Its 3D Hyper Lip design reliably grabs the water, producing an action that combines wobbling and rolling. In addition to its secondary movement when knocking the bottom, it maintains its action during a straight retrieve and is designed to smoothly deflect off hard cover such as timber and riprap.

The body is designed with water resistance during the retrieve, structure deflection, and air resistance during casting in mind, ensuring casting distance and snag resistance without using a weight-transfer system. A fixed full-tungsten weight is used to lower the center of gravity, and the balance unique to a fixed-weight design brings out the crisp, well-defined action generated by the lip. This floating model has a diving range of 1.2–1.6 m. Its basic operation is a straight retrieve after casting, and it can also be retrieved while contacting the bottom or cover. It measures 5.2 cm in length and weighs 9.6 g. Recommended tackle is an ML to M power, 6–7 ft baitcasting rod paired with 8–14 lb fluorocarbon or 10–20 lb nylon line. Different hook sizes are used front and rear—#7 on the front and #5 on the rear—to reduce front-hook swing during the action and optimize the hook balance.
