Evergreen MO-DO

EVERGREEN’s Mo-DO is a brand developed by Seizo Shimizu in pursuit of lures he can “truly trust and fish with confidence.” As a pencil bait designed to efficiently search the surface, it emphasizes both the ability to attract fish from a distance and the controllability needed to trigger bites according to the conditions. The flagship Showerblows combines a distinctive bill design with a flat-sided body to produce a strong spit-and-bubble effect.

The tungsten weight positioned in the rear of the body contributes to casting distance and a stable floating posture. It also features a rattle sound produced by tungsten and steel balls. The body balance, which maintains good contact with the water, provides an excellent response to rod work, allowing anglers to create consecutive quick turns and walking-the-dog actions with varying intensity. A feathered hook is fitted to the tail, helping maintain residual movement when the action is paused and encouraging fish to inhale the lure during short bites.

The Showerblows is a floating model measuring 12.5 cm and weighing 26.0 g, while the Showerblows Shorty measures 10.5 cm and weighs 16.3 g. The Shorty retains the original’s fish-attracting power and casting distance while pursuing improved biteability with a more compact body size. With rod manipulation, anglers can cover a wide area using consecutive quick turns or reduce the intensity of the rod work to create a softer vibration. The series also includes models such as the Showerblows 77.7 and Big Mama, allowing anglers to choose according to the size and level of attraction required.
