Imakatsu FD--- — Features & specifications
Imakatsu’s FD Guard Keeper is a mounting component that allows the FD Guard, designed for fishing swimbaits around cover, to be easily attached to and removed from a lure. It can be used with the Lazy Swimmer series and other compatible swimbaits, provided they have a chin section into which the FD Guard Keeper can be screwed and an eyelet for threading the wire. By securing the keeper to the lure in advance, the separately sold FD Guard can be attached and removed with a single touch, allowing you to fish without a guard in open water and with a guard around cover.
The FD Guards used with the keeper are made of stainless-steel wire and are available in 0.6 mm, 0.7 mm, and 0.8 mm diameters. The wire can be bent into the desired position with pliers and cut to the required length. The guard’s shape and length can be adjusted to match the lure size and cover conditions, allowing setups such as leaving the wire longer to keep the lure suspended above the bottom or stumps, or shortening it to work tightly alongside cover. Official combination examples recommend the 0.6 mm FD Guard for the 6-inch Lazy Swimmer, the 0.7 mm model for the 7-inch version, and the 0.8 mm model for the 9-inch version.
