Imakatsu FD Guard

IMAKATSU’s FD Guard (IK×FISH DEVICE FD GUARD) is a removable wire hook guard designed for fishing swimbaits around cover. By screwing the FD Guard Keeper into the swimbait’s chin, it can be attached to compatible swimbaits, including the Lazy Swimmer series, as long as they have an eye through which the wire can be threaded. The FD Guard is made of stainless steel wire and is available in 0.6 mm, 0.7 mm, and 0.8 mm diameters. This lineup makes it easy to choose the appropriate wire thickness based on the lure size, type of cover, and size of the target fish.

Installation is simple, and the guard can be removed with one touch even after being set in the FD Guard Keeper. Use pliers to bend the wire into the desired position, then cut it to the required length. Model IK-428 is 0.6 mm, IK-429 is 0.7 mm, and IK-430 is 0.8 mm. The keeper for all models is the separately sold IK-427 FD Guard Keeper. When using the FD Guard, it is important not to spread it too far. Since the rebound force of the hard stainless steel wire can continuously stress the resin keeper and cause damage, adjust the shape while checking it carefully during installation.
