Imakatsu MJ Pop

IMAKATSU’s MJ POP is a jointed popper designed to combine a powerful popping sound with a lively side-to-side action in a single body. Measuring 70 mm in length and weighing 9.2 g, this floating model uses its jointed construction to achieve both the sound and side-to-side action that are often difficult to produce together in a popper. Its upright floating posture and deep cup create a deep, powerful “bokon” popping sound that pushes water even in deeper areas.

The tail section is also weighted to stabilize the lure’s flight posture during casting. In addition, the rear-positioned joint is finely tuned instead of being placed at the center, reducing the tendency of jointed lures to spin in midair while pursuing the straight-line stability and long-casting performance of a conventional popper. Although a deep cup makes subtle side-to-side action difficult, the jointed construction allows the lure to produce a side-to-side action with limited forward movement even after generating a popping sound. Combined with the flat-sided body, this design produces flash even with a light action. The lure can be worked in different ways: use the popping sound to announce its presence over a wide area, then entice fish with an evasive side-to-side action. The lineup includes 3D Realism colors, emphasizing three-dimensional realism, as well as standard colors.
