IMAKATSU’s Aventa Crawler RS is a downsized crawler bait made from a special wood material to maximize its crawling action at dead-slow speeds. Measuring 80 mm in length and weighing 25 g, its body is smaller than the original model and designed to improve hook-setting performance on short strikes while making it easier to use in tight spots. The highly buoyant paulownia wood gives it a shallow draft, and when viewed from below, it presents a slender minnow-like silhouette.
The balance between the large rear wings and highly buoyant body produces a crawling action with minimal forward movement, even at ultra-slow speeds. If it flips over upon landing, it automatically rights itself, while the wings open as soon as it hits the water, allowing it to transition into its action as soon as the retrieve begins. At rest, it assumes a head-up posture and can also produce a pendulum-style twitching action with minimal movement when manipulated with the rod. Resin sockets are built into the wooden body, creating a structure that resists loosening even after repeated adjustments to the screw eyes. It is primarily intended for dead-slow retrieves; if the lure tracks unevenly to one side, make small adjustments to the screw eye corresponding to the wing on that side. Whereas the GT model emphasizes casting distance and accuracy, the RS is designed for an even slower action.
