Imakatsu Mean Bats

IMAKATSU’s Mame Butts is a minimum-size crankbait with a compact body and an inherent side-to-side sliding action. Measuring 30 mm and weighing 2.5 g, it is a floating model featuring the “Rotating Waddle Blade System (PAT)” mounted on the tail. As the Waddle Blade rotates and catches the water at random, it momentarily destabilizes the body’s balance, producing a chattering action that slides irregularly from side to side instead of following a straight path. The blade itself also creates spoon-like flash and water displacement, combining the vibration of a crankbait with the attraction of a blade.

The basic retrieve is a steady dead-slow retrieve, allowing the chattering action to occur naturally rather than forcing it with rod movements. Retrieve at a speed just fast enough to barely feel the lure’s resistance through the rod tip, and lower the rod tip to adjust the running depth. A momentary decrease in tension at the rod tip during the retrieve indicates that the Waddle Blade has triggered the chattering action. According to the official information, the maximum diving depth is 2 m. After allowing the lure to reach the desired depth, retrieve it as slowly as possible while maintaining enough tension to feel its action. The lineup also includes bass-oriented colors, making it suitable for covering shallow water with a small crankbait.
