Imakatsu Ago Coil

IMAKATSU’s Ago Coil is an auxiliary component designed to be attached to the jaw section of a soft bait to prevent tearing caused by the hook. By screwing the coil into the underside of the soft bait’s jaw, it reinforces the hook-setting area and helps prevent the soft bait from tearing and slipping off the hook during casting or when fighting a fish. The IK-411 is available in 3 mm and 6 mm diameters, allowing you to choose the appropriate size according to the dimensions of the soft bait’s jaw.

To use, hold the tab on the coil and twist it into the designated position on the underside of the soft bait’s jaw. After embedding the entire coil into the soft bait, cut off the tab with nippers or a similar tool, then insert the hook so that it passes through the inside of the coil. With the hook running through the coil, the jaw section of the soft bait is held securely, increasing resistance to tearing. The IK-411 Ago Coil reinforces standard hook rigging in situations where tearing around the soft bait’s jaw is a concern.
