Imakatsu Skipdog

IMAKATSU’s SKIPDOG is a 2.5-inch, yamamoto-style no-sinker worm designed for easy skipping with baitcasting tackle and for attracting fish with a dog-walking action whether retrieved subsurface or allowed to float after landing. A popper cup on the front of the body creates a dog-walking action with powerful water displacement in response to rod movements. The deep claw-cut line running from the belly toward the rear functions like a lip that catches water and moves the entire body from side to side. The elastomer version can be fished on the surface by taking advantage of its buoyancy, while also producing spit and spray like a popper.

Another feature is its double-face design, with different silhouettes at the front and rear: the front resembles a goby, while the rear is shaped like a shrimp or crayfish. Skip it deep into cover and work it to imitate a shrimp that has taken refuge, or present it as a goby escaping when pulling it out of cover. The recommended hooks are the TheoriZe WG-M or T・N・S Offset II in sizes 1/0 to 2/0. By screwing the included jaw coil into the underside of the jaw and passing the hook through the coil, you can create a rigging setup that helps reduce tearing at the mouth.
