Imakatsu Gekiasa Shad

IMAKATSU’s GekiasaShad is a shallow-diving shad plug designed to target extremely shallow water near the bank while running through the mid-water column, with a maximum diving depth of 50 cm. Developed from the perspective of bank anglers fishing Lake Kasumigaura, it is designed for parallel swimming above the bass’s line of sight without excessive contact with the bottom. Measuring 58 mm and weighing 7 g, this dead-slow floating model is easy to retrieve at a consistent depth while maintaining a shallow range.

Its action is a vivid, tight roll inspired by Scandinavian style. Inside the body is a tungsten-ball-and-magnet weight-transfer system. Combined with its original aerodynamic form, this design supports casts intended to maintain a straight trajectory even in windy conditions. The basic presentation is a steady retrieve, making it well suited for running through shallow water near the bank or the mid-water column in shallow areas without repeatedly contacting the bottom. The manufacturer recommends 7–12 lb fluorocarbon line and a 6.3–6.6 ft baitcasting rod, with an L to ML action as a guideline.
