Imakatsu Gentahog

IMAKATSU’s GentaHog is a high-appeal hog-style soft bait that combines a variety of attracting elements with a horizontal-fall action, developed from knowledge and experience gained on the Kasumigaura system. MAX SALT is incorporated into the claws to help prevent the bait from spinning during a free fall and keep the body stable in a horizontal position. The underside features three thin flaps modeled after a shrimp’s abdominal legs, creating a visible silhouette for fish looking up from below while increasing water resistance to control the claw action and sink rate. The body also includes projections that make hook rigging easier.

The standard size is in the 3.5-inch class, making it suitable for heavy Carolina rigs, including techniques involving heavy drop-shot-style presentations, Texas rigs, and as a trailer for rubber jigs. During the fall, while resting on the bottom, and with subtle manipulation, each component catches water and moves. It is also intended for use as an alternative to pork baits. The derivative Tiny GentaHog maintains the functionality of the 3.5-inch model while revising and downsizing each component to the 2.5-inch class. It features a compact silhouette that retains a substantial profile and a soft, pliable material, making it well suited as a trailer for compact rubber jigs.
