Imakatsu Alive Screw Minnow

IMAKATSU’s ALIVE SCREW MINNOW is a prop bait based on the ALIVE CHATTER, tuned for a “silent” action with reduced hunting and rolling. Its unsuspecting, straight-line track draws strikes. The rear of the body is equipped with a Hiyoko Brand Noisy Scratch prop. The shaft hole features a unique design made up of three overlapping round holes, causing the metal components to make irregular contact as the propeller rotates and produce a scraping sound similar to a shad click. The lure is designed to attract fish not only with water displacement, but also with sound transmitted directly through the water.

The body inherits the ultra-low center-of-gravity design of the ALIVE CHATTER. Combined with the positioning of the line eye, this construction helps maintain a nearly level posture throughout the retrieve, from long casts to close range. The basic technique is to count the lure down to the target depth, then retrieve it at a steady speed just fast enough to keep the propeller turning. Adding weight to the Quick Changer Hanger System allows you to adjust the lure’s sink rate, running depth, and speed. Alternatively, by keeping the rod tip high and retrieving at a slightly faster, steady speed immediately after the lure lands, it can also be used like a buzzbait without allowing it to sink. If the lure tracks unevenly to one side, make a slight adjustment to the line eye to true-tune its action.
