Imakatsu Javallon 110

IMAKATSU’s JAVALLON 110 is a soft jointed bait designed to deliver a full-body-driven action like a big jointed plug, while remaining fishable with an offset hook. The original JAVALLON, first released shortly after IMAKATSU was founded, has been faithfully reproduced using the original specifications for its mold, material, and manufacturing facility. It features an 11.0 cm body weighing approximately 3/7 oz.

Its jointed structure, made up of multiple connected blocks, is combined with a two-core, two-layer sandwich construction using materials with different specific gravities in the upper and lower sections. This helps stabilize the center of gravity even when rigged with a hook, suppresses spiraling during the fall, and produces a smooth, rolling action that allows the entire body to grip the water. Rather than relying on a lip or a shad tail, the entire body generates the action. On a slow retrieve, it swims with a broad, smooth motion, while the strength of the action can be adjusted by changing the retrieve speed.

The primary presentation is a slow retrieve on a weightless rig, targeting the water from just below the surface down to approximately 1 m. Raising the rod after the bait lands creates a buzzing presentation with a surface wake, while lowering the rod and retrieving produces a swimming action just beneath the surface. With a Texas rig, it can be horizontally retrieved at depths of approximately 1–4 m, fished with a weighted fall, or dragged along the bottom. It is also compatible with drop-shot, nail-weight, jighead, and heavy Carolina rigs. For the 110 size, a 3/0 offset hook is the standard, with the flat side positioned downward. Rigging it upside down makes it easier to maintain a slightly deeper running depth.
