Abu Garcia Hornet Spears

Abu Garcia’s Hornet Spears are long-distance versatile rods that inherit the cork grips of previous Hornet series models, while featuring 40T carbon as the primary blank material and 55T carbon material in the butt section. X-wrapping is applied to the butt section to increase the blank’s torque. The tip guide uses a titanium-frame SiC guide, while the blank guides feature stainless-steel frames with Alconite inserts, achieving a balance of reduced weight and practicality.

The spinning lineup centers on the HSSS-622ULS, HSSS-642L, and HSSS-652ML, allowing anglers to choose according to rig or lure weight and handling characteristics. The HSSS-622ULS is a finesse model with a solid tip and UL power, the HSSS-642L features L power and a fast taper for working lightweight rigs, and the HSSS-652ML is designed with ML power for easier handling of a broader range of weights. The series also includes a solid-tip model designed for light Carolina rigs, allowing anglers to work the rig while detecting changes in bottom contours and structure. Models can be selected to match the rig or lure being used, including jigheads, light Carolina rigs, metal vibes, and I-shaped lures.
