Daiwa Raybreeze

DAIWA’s RAYBREEZE is an I-shaped minnow developed through years of testing primarily on Lake Nojiri. Designed to drift and entice fish near the surface, it features a natural abalone plate in every color. Its natural flashing reflection of light attracts following fish. When a gentle breeze creates ripples on the surface, the irregular shimmer and sparkle produced by the waves add variation to the lure’s subtle, straight-tracking I-shaped action.

Another distinctive feature is the front cup beneath the chin, which provides the pulling resistance that can be difficult to feel with I-shaped minnows. This makes it easier to detect slight resistance during the retrieve and to monitor the lure’s condition when working it at dead-slow speed while taking up slack line. The tail tinsel is mounted separately from the hook, helping maintain the lure’s straight-tracking I-shaped action. During a dead-slow retrieve, it trails behind the lure, and it continues to flutter in the current even when the lure is paused on the surface. The lineup includes the floating 66F and sinking 66S models, allowing anglers to choose between keeping the lure on the surface or searching just below the surface with a sinking presentation.
