JACKALL’s POMPADOUR is a noisy-style winged topwater lure developed to create dynamic surface action. Designed for use around areas with complex laydowns and overhanging cover, it starts its crawling action easily even at slow speeds and is also suited to pinpoint presentations with minimal forward movement. The basic technique is to retrieve at the speed where the crawling action begins. Mixing in a stop-and-go retrieve lets you alternate between keeping the lure working in the same spot and covering water.

The custom metal wings deliver a stable response from slow to fast retrieves, while the large-capacity body generates powerful water displacement and draws fish to the surface with the sound and vibration produced by the wings and prop. The rear hook and prop are integrated into a structure with lateral movement, increasing the lure’s appeal during the retrieve while allowing the hook to move freely during the fight. In addition, the magnet-fixed weight-transfer system counteracts the air resistance commonly caused by the multiple components of crawler baits, stabilizing the lure’s flight. The 79 mm, 22.0 g POMPADOUR is a floating model equipped with RB-M #2 hooks. The 66 mm, 18.0 g POMPADOUR Jr. is easy to handle with lighter tackle and can be selected for a more subtle, bite-oriented presentation.
