Cotton Cordell Topwater

Cotton Cordell is a heritage brand that represents the golden age of American tackle innovation. Best known for mass-producing the world’s first squarebill crankbait, the brand has spent over 70 years creating "essential" lures that belong in every angler's tackle box. Whether you are targeting trophy bass in a reservoir or stripers in the surf, Cotton Cordell provides time-tested reliability and performance. The Big O (The Original Squarebill): The Big O is arguably the most influential crankbait ever made. Originally carved from balsa by Fred Young and later mass-produced by Cotton Cordell, this lure started the "squarebill revolution." Its high-buoyancy body and square lip allow it to deflect off heavy cover and timber with ease, triggering violent reaction strikes from shallow-water bass. The Red Fin (The Wake Bait King): The Red Fin series is a versatile minnow-style bait that has earned legendary status among both bass and striped bass anglers. When retrieved slowly on the surface, it creates a "V-wake" that is irresistible to predators. It remains a "secret weapon" for many professionals for its ability to call fish up from the depths in clear water. The Super Spot and Pencil Popper: Cotton Cordell’s range extends into vibration and surface categories with the Super Spot—a classic lipless crankbait known for its loud, high-pitched rattle—and the Pencil Popper, a staple for long-distance surface casting. These lures are celebrated for their simple yet effective actions that produce results year after year.
